If you are make-up knowledgable, or know someone who is, perhaps you can help me solve this problem:

For my halloween costume, I need to make my entire head the color of a honeydew melon. They didn't have this color at spirit plus. I'm not sure it exists. Any ideas? I'm not above bleaching and/or dying my hair to help the cause. Would it be possible to add pigment to a white base of some kind?

Are you averse to shaving your head? :)

yes.

I'm willing to be talked into it, but it would require serious negotiating.

Hi. I've used this brand before. Good stuff, lots of colors... not sure where you'd find it in town, tho.

A little, white, yellow, and brown and you'd be honeydew. Or is it kinda green? I don't even know what a honeydew looks like.

It's about the lighter color green on the outside of a watermelon. Maybe a little less intense than mint colored ice cream.

... except that I think the color on that toy is wrong. He had more of a yellow to him, as I recall.

The "research" I've been doing for the past couple of weeks indicates that anything in between pineapple and mint is passable. He shows up in a number of different colors it seems. I'm happy w/ the variation, since I probably won't get an exact color match anyway.

As I recall, he has shown up in that greener color, though I think he was a monster then. I'd have to dig through my videos and DVDs. Have fun with it.

your solution

Go to California Theatrical aka. Kryolan. they are on 9th st between mission and howard, bartable- (civic center) and open m-f, they may have saturday hours as well. but they are great.

Tell Dominic that Maggie from ACT sent you.

I think [info]bettyscout has your back on this, but just any old Theatrical supply store will carry Ben Nye makeup, and I think they make some wacked out colors.
